Governor’s Export Achievement Awards
With more than 95 percent of the world population living outside the U.S. and one billion people expected to join the global middle class in the next decade, growth-minded Wisconsin companies understand they had better be focusing on exports. Wisconsin exports hit a record high in 2014, logging growth greater than 18 percent over the previous four years; although they shrank in 2015, this was part of a nationwide trend and Wisconsin still fared better than the national average. Certain categories of exports, and exports to certain countries, posted large increases in spite of the overall trend.
The Governor’s Export Achievement Awards recognize companies that have contributed to Wisconsin’s exporting strength by achieving extraordinary results in international markets and elevating Wisconsin’s competitiveness in the global economy.
The awards serve a dual purpose: to recognize companies’ good work, and to highlight examples of best practices in export growth so that other Wisconsin companies can learn and apply similar tactics.
Any Wisconsin company or organization successfully engaging in, or assisting in the export of, products or services produced in Wisconsin is eligible to apply.
Nominations can be made by an employee of the company or organization, or by an outside person familiar with the company or organization. Both self-nomination and third-party nominations are encouraged. Nomination deadline is Friday, Jan. 27.
