Global Business Development Program

The Global Business Development Program aids the growth and expansion of the state’s exports by providing matching grant funding to Wisconsin businesses for export training, development, and promotion activities.

The program consists of two grant components that are designed with flexibility to best meet the specific export development and international trade promotion needs of the Wisconsin company.

Export Development Grant
This component is designed to help propel small-and medium-sized Wisconsin companies to become export-ready and to better assist them in developing the internal competence to enter and expand into global markets.

  • For new-to-export companies

  • Reimbursed up to $3,000 in a year

  • Suggested eligible expenses: export seminars, international educational events, developing a company export strategy

International Market Access Grant
This grant can be used for reimbursement of specific expenses associated with executing new and/or expanded international market access strategy.

  • Can recieve up to $10,000 in a year

  • Suggested eligible expenses: international trade exhibitions, certified/sanctioned international trade missions

Please note: A company must apply for the Global Business Development Program and be approved before expenses are incurred.  This program requires a 25% cost-match , in which the recipient is required to provide matching funds of at least 25% of the total activity budget. The cost match may include certain ineligible expenses.
