Wisconsin’s strong business climate draws major growth projects

Thanks to its continued dedication to providing a prosperous environment for business, Wisconsin has seen several large expansion and relocation projects in the last few months. Industry-leading companies including HARIBO, Vonco Products and Mills Fleet Farm have all recently announced major growth plans in the state.

German confectioner HARIBO, creator of the popular GOLD-BEAR gummy candy, recently announced plans to construct its first North American manufacturing facility in Kenosha County. The $242 million project, expected to be completed in 2020, is projected to create more than 400 new jobs.

Vonco Products, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging and promotional products, chose to relocate to Kenosha County from its facility in Illinois, thanks to the state’s legacy of manufacturing expertise. The company announced plans for the $4 million dollar project, which will also create 86 new jobs, in October.

Additionally, Minnesota-based Mills Fleet Farm selected the Lake Wissota Business Park in Chippewa Falls as the location for its new $64.8 million distribution center, the company’s first. The company chose the site in part because of its Certified In Wisconsin® designation, which put in place key permits and paperwork to expedite the construction process.
