WEDC Website Among Best in U.S. for Economic Development Information
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) website, InWisconsin.com, is the third best in the country when it comes to providing economic development site selection information, according to a new independent report by Sigala Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in urban and regional planning.
The report recognized the website for being among the best in providing online corporate site location information to help companies and site selectors decide where to locate their operations. In addition to the site’s overall No. 3 ranking, it also received a No. 1 ranking in property search capabilities and was tied for No. 1 nationwide for its community search tools.
“States have become increasingly competitive and aggressive when it comes to trying to attract new businesses and get existing companies to expand,” said Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of WEDC. “If you want to succeed in this arena–and Wisconsin definitely is–it is important that decision-makers are able to quickly access the most up-to-date information about a state’s key attributes and available sites.”
With a high concentration of water industry experts and companies working together to strengthen the state’s growing water technology industry, Wisconsin is quickly becoming the worldwide hub of the water industry. The state’s strength in water technology will be on display at the Wisconsin Water Innovation Pavilion at WEFTEC 2014, the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition, Sept. 29-Oct. 1, in New Orleans.
