New Distribution Center Finds a Home In Wisconsin®

In 2014, Meijer announced it would invest $146 million to purchase and remodel an existing facility in Pleasant Prairie for a new distribution center expected to serve stores in Wisconsin and Illinois, and possibly other states. The distribution center will support the chain’s plans to open stores in Grafton, Oak Creek, Kenosha, Wauwatosa, Sussex and Waukesha.

Once completed, the 770,000-square-foot facility is expected to employ 271 full-time and 42 part-time employees. Meijer is eligible for $5.25 million in tax credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation through 2022, contingent upon the number of jobs actually created.
