The Toro Company to expand Tomah facility footprint, add jobs

toro-newsroom-image.jpgThe Toro Co. has announced plans to grow its Tomah-based commercial equipment manufacturing operation by 180,000 square feet and add 35 jobs to its employee roster there.

The facility, located near Interstates 90 and 94, manufactures equipment for golf courses, sports fields and grounds, and other landscape industries. The expansion will come as Toro also adds a new paint system, which will increase the production capacity of existing product lines.

WEDC has authorized up to $350,000 in performance-based state tax credits over the next four years, contingent upon the number of jobs created and the level of capital investment Toro makes.

“Companies have a choice when they are looking to expand, and we’re pleased The Toro Co. has chosen to make this investment right here in Wisconsin,” Gov. Scott Walker said. “The new jobs and capital investment this project will bring to Tomah underscore Toro’s continued commitment to the state and our workforce.”

Toro, founded in 1914, is a worldwide leader in outdoor maintenance equipment, irrigation and professional lighting solutions, with a network of professional distributors, dealers and retailers in more than 125 countries.
