Europe Offers Exciting Trade Opportunities

Accounting for 20 percent of the world’s exports and imports, the European Union remains a major world trading power. Specifically, Germany, France and Spain stand out as three EU countries that provide significant opportunities for companies in the U.S., as well as Wisconsin businesses. Germany boasts one of the strongest economies in the world, France imports nearly $500 million in Wisconsin goods every year and Spain’s Basque Country is a promising region for Wisconsin’s advanced manufacturing and energy, power and control sectors. Companies interested in expanding their global reach to these countries should consider joining the Governor’s Trade Mission to Europe, April 12-21

IN-COUNTRY PERSPECTIVE

European Union Holds Opportunities for Trade and Investment

Operating as a single market with 28 countries (18 using the same currency), the European Union (EU) is a major world trading power. With just 7 percent of the world’s population, the EU's trade with the rest of the world accounts for around 20 percent of global exports and imports.
