Supplying the Freshest and Finest Specialty Foods
Gourmet Foods International
began as a small Atlanta-area cheese shop in 1967. Since then, the company has grown into one of the leading specialty food suppliers in the nation. Its mission is to provide customers with the freshest and finest specialty food products. The company takes special interest in small producers and works directly with them to offer hand-crafted, healthy, and environmentally conscientious products.
Connecting with a Robust Supply Chain In Wisconsin®
Gourmet Foods International chose the Business Park of Kenosha as the location for a new 35,200-square-foot distribution center, the company’s first Midwest location. The new distribution center will allow Gourmet Foods to reach the Milwaukee, Chicago and Minneapolis markets, and is the company’s seventh location nationwide.
To support Gourmet Foods’ expansion, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation awarded the company $200,000 in performance-based tax credits, and Kenosha Area Business Alliance provided $1.1 million in financing. FaB Wisconsin, Wisconsin’s statewide food and beverage industry cluster consortium based in Milwaukee, played a critical role in helping the company understand Wisconsin’s sector leadership in food and beverage, and the robust supply chain the company would be able to connect with by locating here.
