French Company to Expand Portage Facility

Saint-Gobain Corp., a world leader in the habitat and construction markets, announced it will expand its medical device manufacturing facility in Portage, Wisconsin, after considering other international options.

“Our Portage plant has a long history of profitable growth. This, combined with the quality of our people and products, the fact that it has one of the best safety records in Saint-Gobain Corp., and the support of the state and local government made the expansion decision easy,” said Marco Corrales, vice president of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics’ Fluid Systems Division.

To support the expansion project, WEDC will provide the company with up to $700,000 in performance-based refundable credits over three years, with the total amount of credits contingent upon the creation of a set number of jobs and a set amount of capital investment made by the company.
