Black river falls added to ranks of certified sites
Joining 16 other locations statewide, the Black River Falls Industrial Park was recently recognized as the latest Certified In Wisconsin® site.
The park sits on 76 acres just northeast of downtown Black River Falls and consists of four individual parcels, two of which make up more than 90 percent of the property. The site is also ideally located for distribution, with short commutes to regional airports in Eau Claire and La Crosse as well as the Union Pacific Railroad.
“In today’s market, we can’t just wait for a company to approach us. We need to be proactive in preparing sites for development,” said City Administrator Brad Chown. “When a developer becomes interested in a community, they want to move quickly, and having a Certified In Wisconsin development-ready site in the industrial park puts Black River Falls in a great position to meet those needs.”
The Certified in Wisconsin Program, which launched in 2012, gives site selectors and real estate decision makers confidence when selecting a potential location by putting in place many of the key permits and paperwork, which help avoid costly delays and allow businesses to get up and running faster.
