Thanks to the state’s growing economy and positive business climate, Wisconsin was named among Chief Executive magazine’s 10 Best States for Business for the first time.
According to the magazine, Wisconsin has had the steadiest ascension in the rankings for the past five years, jumping from number 41 in 2010 to the top 10 in 2017. Chief Executive’s rankings are calculated from a survey of CEOs around the country, which is based on their opinions of each state’s business opportunities.
The magazine hailed the state’s central location, business-friendly policies, skilled workforce and dedication to building an effective economic development network as reasons for selecting Wisconsin among the top 10.
“Wisconsin’s impressive business growth is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our network of economic development and state partners to helping companies and people thrive in a globally competitive environment,” said Mark R. Hogan, secretary and CEO of WEDC.
