Vonco Finds Support In Wisconsin

After outgrowing its operations in Illinois, Vonco Products LLC needed to find a new home. The company set its sights on Kenosha County due to the state’s strong manufacturing industry and supportive business climate.

Vonco, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging and promotional products, will move into an 80,500-square-foot facility in the growing Salem Business Park in the Town of Salem. The company expects to invest more than $4 million in equipment upgrades at the new facility and create 86 jobs over the next three years. Since the beginning of 2013, major economic development projects accounting for more than 6,000 new jobs and nearly $1 billion of capital investment have been announced or completed, or are under way in Kenosha County. Vonco joins other well-known companies in the area like Amazon, Meijer and Gourmet Foods International.

To help attract Vonco to Wisconsin, WEDC awarded the company up to $500,000 in tax credits, contingent upon job creation requirements over the next three years. In addition to WEDC, economic development groups around the state collaborated on the effort, including the Kenosha Area Business Alliance, Milwaukee 7 and the Town of Salem.
