Milwaukee-based MeterHero, previously known as H2Oscore, is offering a new application that monitors water and energy usage in real-time. The app lets smartphone users combine all their utility meter readings to track and share how they use electricity, natural gas and water.

Launched in February 2014, MeterHero has gained the attention of the Chicago-based Clean Energy Trust and is being implemented in local schools as an educational tool to help high school students train for jobs in sustainable business. MeterHero is also helping businesses discover ways to cut back on water and energy use.

McGee Young, founder of H2Oscore, decided to evolve the business into MeterHero when he and his team discovered that users wanted to be able to track water and energy usage overall. Previously, H2Oscore only offered users the ability to track water usage.
