The Water Council recently announced six winners of Batch II of The BREW (Business. Research. Entrepreneurship. In Wisconsin.), an accelerator program for water technology startups.

Batch II Winners include:

Cadens: a pioneer in the field of micro- to small-hydropower, particularly in the deployment of Near Net Shape (NNS) technology to turbine design, production and installation of hydro-electric generating machinery in existing non-power dams and stream reach development.

Hydro-lite: a hand held water sterilization device that uses UV light and hand powered electrical source requiring no batteries, filters or chemicals.

Pellucid Water: develops and markets applications of Dense-Medium Plasma for water decontamination by using an electrical discharge producing highly reactive free radicals and charged particles that affect targeted chemical and biological reactions and does not require chemical additives, membrane filters or ion exchangers.

pHinding Solutions: a biotechnology company that creates new, innovative technologies by working directly with researchers to assess their individual needs inside and outside the laboratory.

WatrHub: an award-winning Data-Mining & Analytics company that matches water technologies and solutions with the needs of water and wastewater systems by delivering timely, tailored market intelligence solutions, which help water technology companies fast-track their sales process and uncover strategic market insights across the USA and Canada.

Wellntel: develops simple, smart technologies and information systems to help homeowners, farmers and communities learn about and sustainably manage their groundwater.

The BREW helps water technology startups advance and bring ideas to commercialization. BREW participants receive space in the Global Water Center to collaborate and help their new businesses succeed.

The BREW accelerator program was recently awarded one of 10 inaugural Wisconsin Innovation Awards as part of the Forward Technology Festival in Madison.
