Marsha Caporaso, president of Abatron Inc., has always worked to grow the Kenosha-based manufacturer through international trade.
Though the small, local employer of 20 had marketing and trade business in Canada, the objective was to expand to overseas destinations, preferably where there were English speakers.
A manufacturer of restorative, protective and maintenance chemical products for wood, metal, concrete and stone, Abatron sought to get its products to a larger base of industrial and residential consumers.
“We’ve always been interested in international business,” she said Thursday during an interview. “We wanted to investigate into who needs our products.”
Caporaso was one of the business representatives who participated as a member of an eight-day global trade venture to India sponsored by Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. in 2016.
