A new list from financial website NerdWallet details the best places to start a business in Wisconsin. The outlet analyzed 118 cities with a population of at least 5,000, and based its overall score for each location on business climate and economic health data from the U.S. Census Bureau. According to the list, the top 10 cities for starting a business in the state are:

  1. Ashwaubenon, a suburb of Green Bay
  2. Monona, a suburb of Madison
  3. Waukesha, a suburb of Milwaukee
  4. Hudson, located 30 minutes from Minneapolis and St. Paul
  5. Plymouth, located an hour from Green Bay to the north and Milwaukee to the south
  6. Brookfield, located 12 miles from Milwaukee
  7. Glendale, a suburb of Milwaukee
  8. Pewaukee, located less than 20 miles from Milwaukee
  9. Waupaca, located an hour and 15 minutes from Green Bay
  10. Shawano, located 5 minutes from the Menominee Reservation
