The Doyenne Group is seeking applications for its third annual Doyenne 5x5x5 Pitch event, in which five women-led businesses give five-minute pitches for a chance to win a $5,000 seed grant.
The event, which will take place Wednesday, Aug. 24, during the Forward Festival in Madison, is co-organized by 1 Million Cups Madison to help women-led businesses at any level of incorporation find success in Wisconsin. Companies must have a majority of shares owned by women and must demonstrate innovation in their industry that is scalable to regional, national or international markets.
Applications will be accepted through June 4 on the Doyenne Group’s website. Finalists will be announced on June 20. Pitches are open to the public during the Forward Festival.
Previous winners include BluDiagnostics, a company that created a thermometer-like device and corresponding app to help monitor and diagnose problems with fertility, and Protect Your Pumps, a company that created stickers for the bottom of men’s and women’s shoes to protects them from grime and scratches.
