Since its inception in 2012, gener8tor, which has locations in Madison, Milwaukee and Minneapolis, has helped fund and guide 42 startups around the country. Earlier in October, the accelerator announced six new startups that will join its program’s ranks.
The accelerator opens up its 12-week course to five or six new companies from around the country twice per year. Participants receive up to $140,000 and access to an extensive network of mentors, technologists and investors. The companies in the newest class, which represent Wisconsin, Illinois, California and Florida, include:
- PrettyLitter: an online subscription service for specialized kitty litter that changes colors if it detects potential health problems in urine;
- ParqEx: a software company that connects drivers looking to rent hard-to-find parking spots in densely populated areas with people who own parking spaces willing to rent them;
- Exit 7C: a company that designed an app to allow users to buy gas at participating stations with the app to prevent credit card skimming;
- Lumanu: a cloud computing company that allows businesses, marketing agencies and advertising agencies to identify potential brand advocates;
- ThirdPartyTrust: a cloud computing company that helps IT professionals monitor vulnerability to cyber threats; and
- YachtLife: a company that created a mobile app that lets users compare prices and book luxury yachts.
